Children aged 4 to 13 can take part in the Halloween-themed race in Utica on October 24

Registration for the 2026 Boolermaker Kids Race will open on September 14, giving children aged 4 to 13 an opportunity to take part in a Halloween-themed running event at T.R. Proctor Park in Utica, New York.

The race is scheduled to begin at 10am on October 24. Organisers said registration will cost $10, with participation limited to the first 500 children who sign up.

The event will feature four race distances—one-quarter mile, one-half mile, three-quarter mile and one mile. The courses are designed to accommodate children of different ages and abilities.

Children who register by October 11 will receive an official Boolermaker T-shirt as part of their participation.

The organisers are also encouraging participants to wear costumes for the Halloween-themed event, provided the outfits are safe for running. Capes, however, will not be permitted.

Beyond the races, the Boolermaker Kids Race will include games, treats and other Halloween-themed activities, giving children and families opportunities to enjoy activities beyond the running events.

Registration will begin at 10am on September 14, and organisers are encouraging interested families to register early because only 500 spots will be available.
